Tips: Metallic tasteUpdated 4 months ago
The Kettle is made of stainless steel (SUS304) with a lid-seal and feet for stability in BPA-free silicone rubber, which is standard in the industry. Unlike some other kettles, ours doesn't contain plastic, which ensures no plastic taste. We believe that taste can be a matter of personal preference when it comes to taste.
The first thing we can recommend is using a mild acid solution like diluted white vinegar (12-24%) to remove any bad taste.
1. Fill the Kettle with water (only water) to the MAX line. For a quicker process, you can heat the water to 85° Celsius or 185°Fahrenheit.
2. Take the Kettle off the base to ensure it cannot heat up.
3. Add 1 deciliter of vinegar.
4. Allow the mixture to stay/sit for at least 1 hour, preferably more.
5. Pour out the water-vinegar mixture and rinse with fresh water.
6. Boil clean water in the Kettle several times to rinse out any remaining vinegar. Ensure you use fresh water for each rinse.
