Tips: DescalingUpdated 4 months ago

How to Descale Your Coffee Maker

Regular descaling helps keep your Coffee Maker performing at its best. We recommend descaling every two months, or more often if you live in an area with hard water.

You can use any standard descaling solution available from most hardware or housewares stores.

Note:
The descaling program takes about 15 minutes.
Do not interrupt the process while the LED indicator is flashing, and never leave the descaling solution in the Coffee Maker for an extended period.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Place the Coffee Maker on a flat, dry surface.

  2. Plug in the power cord to an earthed socket.

  3. Prepare the descaling solution according to the manufacturer’s instructions in a separate container, then pour it into the water tank.

  4. Position the filter basket and place the glass carafe on the hotplate.

  5. Start descaling: Press and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds until the LED indicator begins flashing — this means the descaling process has started.

  6. Half of the solution will run through the machine first.

  7. The Coffee Maker will then pause briefly to allow the solution to work.

  8. It will automatically restart, allowing the rest of the solution to pass through.

  9. When the LED indicator turns off, the descaling process is complete.

  10. Rinse thoroughly: Run two full brewing cycles using only cold water to flush out any remaining solution. Pour out the water after each cycle.

Prevention Tips

  • Use filtered water whenever possible to reduce limescale buildup.

  • Clean the water tank regularly to prevent mineral deposits.
