The heating plate should only turn on automatically if used with the glass carafe. When the Thermal Jug is in place, the Coffee Maker should automatically detect it and disable the heating plate to prevent overheating or damage to the jug’s insulated base.

If it activates when the Thermal Jug is used, the machine should be replaced and and logged with the code: "Heating plate activates with Thermal Jug"
